January 5, 2271 & ED year 14, Day 155.

Alex woke on Saturday to find himself tangled with Sam and Nicole, and he smiled at seeing them holding tightly to both him and each other. This was a sight that he had become used to since escaping the situation that had him trapped in ED for the majority of his time due to the time dilation issues. It was also one of the main reasons that he found himself thankful for it as seeing Nicole finally let Sam fully in, had brightened many things beyond just the bedroom activities. After all, while Sam had done well at holding it back, Alex had always felt that the underlying tension was there.

Sill, as much as he enjoyed the sight of them first thing in the morning, Alex still woke them up as it was time for them to start their day. So, about 30 minutes later, he was seated at breakfast with his wives and children as they all talked about their plans for the day. Having been able to just enjoy this for the past month made that morning bittersweet for Alex, as today would be a return to playing ED for him and he knew that, at least for a little while, he would be missing such things. After all, his absence had still allowed a real mess to be created and he knew that he would need to do a ton of cleanup work. Even as he wanted to pass it off to others to handle, he knew that wasn’t an option and he would need to hit with enough force that none would want him to be involved again.

It was with this thought that Alex was tempted to unleash Levina on all of ED, but he knew that was too much and that things weren’t quite that bad yet. While lingering on that thought, Alex found himself being called out by Ava and Mia.

“No thinking about what comes tonight.”

“Yeah, you’re still not allowed to log in until after the kids are all in bed.”

“Even then, you have more important stuff than the wars to deal with.”

“Like seeing your other 12 wives and two fiancées.”

“Not to mention all of your children.”

“So, worry about war tomorrow morning.”

Alex just smiled and he raised his glass as he knew they were right, but he still intended to send at least one message before seeing his family. So it was with that for the rest of that day, he found himself being chided whenever his thoughts tried to wander in that direction. Yet, he still got through the day and with only slight reluctance, Kate handed over a list of potential targets to him just before it was time to log in and he took a bit of time to consider things before logging in.

The moment Xeal returned to ED, he found himself being embraced by Levina as she just about smothered him in kisses. Xeal almost shifted to his electrical form out of habit, but stopped as he remembered that she was likely pregnant.
